Allow Kids to Express Solidarity for LGBT Classmates

In schools across America children who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) or questioning face stigmatization, bullying and harassment every single day.

LGBT and questioning kids need to know they have the support of their classmates, whether that's through simple things like kids being allowed to wear t-shirts with pro-LGBT messages, or schools allowing Gay/Straight Alliances and other inclusive clubs and events.

Often though, school officials claim that such actions are disruptive -- even when children are allowed to express their views about other things like their religion. The tragedy is that this visible show of support could make such a dramatic difference to an LGBT or questioning child's life.

Freedom of speech does not stop at the school gate.
