Movement To Transform The TTFF

We the undersigned, are the proud fans of football in Trinidad and Tobago.

Most of us, at one point or another, have been frustrated or angry to the point of wanting to take action. This is especially true in cases where the situation is unfair and unbalanced in the impact it has on certain groups of people. Generally, these situations whether they be public policy, local restrictions or a matter of government policy are generally thought to be a done deal and not changeable; at least not by just an ordinary individual. True, many people do adopt the "you can't fight Jack Warner and the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation" position, but we have chosen to take action.

This petition is created to galvanize support to change the current state of the TTFF and it welcomes signatures from persons who share and want to support the movement to transform the TTFF.

Jack Warner, VP of FIFA, said recently that "Change must come to football". I cannot think of a more appropriate statement coming from someone who, we the people of Trinidad and Tobago, consider to be libelous and arrogant.

This is not the first time you are seeing or hearing this outcry coming from the people of Trinidad and Tobago but we are sick and tired of the arrogance and ineptitude of the people who are in control of the TTFF.

One of our missions is to do everything in our power, as a people, to make sure that the next election of the board of members for election to the TTFF don't go uncontested. Our aim is to galvanize public support now to elect new leaders with the vision and competence needed to develop our football program in Trinidad and Tobago to a level of professionalism, competitiveness and respectability both in our region and around the world. We have come to the conclusion that the current president of the TTFF is incompetent, and the rest of the members of the TTFF mere followers of a man who is destined to make a mockery of our reputation and respectability in the Caribbean and around the world. These group of individuals must not win re-election to the Federation without us having some kind of competent and effective representation. We feel it is time to change the status quo.

Benefits of a Transformed TTFF:

1)A TTFF Integrating player participation and player development into one of the world%u2019s most successful top-to-bottom National Team programs. A national team that does not play for pride, but one that plays with pride. The Trinidad and Tobago cricket team is a prime example of what we as a small nation can accomplish.

2)As part of the evidence, a Trinidad and Tobago football national team program that qualifies for consecutive FIFA outdoor world championships including both men's and women's Under-23 Olympic teams, Under-20, Under-17, and senior national teams and advancement beyond the initial preliminary stages.

3)A TTFF that revamps or creates a framework that will provide more resources for the sport to continue to grow considerably at all levels of the game including the Professional League, National Super League, grassroots level, Eddie Hart, SSFL, and the Tobago Football Association, into the future.

4)A TTFF that actually utilizes a National Training Center that employs player development initiatives established for  nurturing player participation and player development and to make football, in all its forms, a preeminent sport in Trinidad and Tobago and to continue the development of football at all recreational and competitive levels. To that end, the Federation%u2019s mission statement should be very clear and that simple.

5)A TTFF concerned with the evolution of the game and has a program that helps chart the course for the sport that is nothing short of remarkable, the development of a Football Federation that is visionary and strategically capable of developing a marketing program that brings to an end the playing of games in small stadiums that are rarely filled to capacity.

6)A Football Federation that the people of Trinidad and Tobago can respect and appreciate, one that has the trust and support of it's international sponsors and strong organizational abilities, one that compensates and supports its members including the men and women that play the game in Trinidad and Tobago and abroad, both financially and health wise, and a Federation that seeks to promote the welfare of all it's members at all levels and not the select few.

7)A Football Federation president that can stand on his or her own two feet and knows how to be a leader the nation can be proud of, an individual that can lead his Federation into a competitive FIFA sanctioned tournament or any meaninful tournament and win it. A leader that knows his or her staff is professionally and highly competitively functional and capable of developing a program to evolutionize the game and the skill set to execute his or her duties, that includes every Vice President, Technical Committee member with no exceptions, the General Secretary, Treasurer and every single jack under his watch. A Football Federation that will resign because it cannot accomplish it's mission. One that is held accountable by the people.

We believe now is the time to voice our vote of no confidence in the people who are currently occupying these important positions in the Federation, who we believe are solely bent on lining their pockets with people's hard earn money, who are all talk with no intentions of developing anything else but their personal wealth off of someone else's blood, sweat, and tears and whose riches have made them complacent and comfortable, while the rest of the country suffer. We are aware of what is going on and it cannot be business as usual anymore, people are fed up with the nonsensical way things are being conducted by this lame duck administration.

We want to make heads roll and force people around the world, including FIFA, to sit up and take notice of our cause. We know there is going to be some kind of back lash to this action but this change has to happen, it is absolutely necessary. We want FIFA and the world to witness our discontent and disapproval of this Football Federation's rank attitude and incompetence.

Together We Aspire, Together We Achieve. That is how this movement is going to accomplish it's mission to bring about change in the way the TTFF executes the plans to develop the beautiful game and how it approaches and treats all professional footballers and aspiring footballers at every level from Trinidad and Tobago and around the world.
