We oppose widening King Road to 4 lanes from Hwy 400 to # 27

Discussion and associated costs are premature when the latest recommendation of the Province's GTA West Corridor (a 400 series highway) suggests an east-west corridor south of the King Vaughan Townline sooner than the widening of the King Rd.

It will change Nobleton from a residential village to an intersection of two major highways.

Why does the assessment of four east/west lanes END in Nobleton at # 27?

The estimated cost (currently) of building four lanes from #400 to #27 is $25.4 Million.

The King Township debt currently is $36.4 Million and York Region's debt is $2 Billion (Nov. 3, 2011 report).

The cost for this Environmental Assessment is $641,191.

The recommendation for safety of King Road might include left turn lanes, access lanes, designated areas for police to use radar, and bicycle lanes, but this is NOT the focus of the above mentioned study.

People should come first in a pedestrian friendly village.
