Rename Southside High School Maynard Jackson High School

Southside High School is currently going through the high school transformation process. The school will be renamed and a new school mascot will also be selected. The faculty, staff, students and parents of Southside voted to rename the school Maynard H. Jackson high school but some community organizations are trying to have the school renamed Joseph Boone High Schoool. We want the voice of our current students, parents, staff and alumni to be heard and the name Maynard H. Jackson High School be selected as the new name for Southside High School.
