Keep the Humpback Whale on the Endangered Species List!

One of the most glorious creatures, the Humpback whale plays a vital part in our eco-system.  These magnificent animals nearly became extinct in the 1900's when they were hunted for their oil and meat by industrial-sized whaling ship. Thankfully, the species has been bouncing back since an international ban on commercial whaling was created in 1966. Though their numbers seem to be increasing, they still face many threats such as ongoing climate change, illegal hunting and ocean acidification.
