Someone Needs to Apologize for the Appearance of the Redskins' Cheerleaders at the Chantily Pep
I do not believe I was the only one who was offended by the fact that our school brought in half-naked Redskins Cheerleaders at this year's Pep Rally. This action encouraged the act of womanizing in addition to portraying woman as mere sex objects. We do NOT appreciate this. It is unbelievably insulting and horrible that our school would do something like this. At the same time they have programs like Girls in Science. And yet this is telling us that they encourage all women to be like the cheerleaders and to make our way in life by simply using our bodies. Not acceptable. Whoever is responsible for this needs to step up and apologize profusely. Sign this petition if you agree!!
We the undersigned are completely offended by the appearance of the Redskins Cheerleaders at Chantilly's 2009 Pep Rally. It was atrocious and insulting to women to say the least. This encouraged the act of womanizing in addition for saying it's okay for men to think of women as mere sex objects. We do not appreciate this. At the same time there are programs like Girls in Science, which encourage girls to use their brains, unlike the appearance of the Cheerleaders in their scant clothing, which encouraged girls to make their way through life using their bodies. We respectfully ask that whoever is responsible step up and make a formal apology and a promise that nothing like this will ever happen again. Thank you for your time,
