Stop "scientific" whaling kill

We have no need to obtain "data" by killing whales.  Whales can be tagged, tracked and studied without killing them.  In fact, the data that we do have, suggests that many species such as the Southern Right Whale and the Humpback Whale, are endangangered and may become extinct unless we act now to prevent Japan from killing these mammals.

The Japanese Government knows that no one really believes that these magnificent animals are really killed for "scientific research' and so they promote the myth that whale meat is traditional Japanese cuisine.  This is nonsense!  Few Japanese actually have ever eaten the meat  and it was only introduced after 1945 (World War 2).

I hate the idea of these beautiful mammals being hunted.  However, I acknowledge that some traditional, indigenous cultures could make a legitimate claim to having hunted them, for food, rather than commercial gain.  The inset photo to my petition, clearly illustrates that Japanese Whalers are not going out there in canoes to feed their tribe.  This is wrong and we all know it.  Sign this petition destined for the International Whaling Commission, then sign my petition to the Japanese Government telling them tht you will not buy anything Japanese until they stop whaling.
