The Market Street Mission in Morristown has been serving their community for more than 100 years by providing counseling, nourishment and shelter to the needy. They have brought their expertise, passion and commitment to Asbury Park in the form of The Jersey Shore Rescue Mission and have been providing care to those in our city requiring assistance.
Stand Up For Asbury, comprised of a group of citizens concerned about the value of their homes formed to fight the Mission in typical NIMBY fashion.

We, the undersigned, citizens of Asbury Park and the surrounding communities, petition the City of Asbury Park in support of the Jersey Shore Rescue Mission. Understanding that the redevelopment of the city has resulted in fewer affordable dwellings and decreased the number of available beds for those in need of shelter, food and care, and viewing the Market Street Mission as a facility that has served the town of Morristown for over 100 years, we feel that the Mission will serve a need in our community and prove to be inherently beneficial to our town.
