We want OUR rock back!!

We the under-signed, loyal followers of the rock station 97.5 The Blaze and fellow Utah rockers unite against the recent change of music options being played on said station. On Thursday January 28, 2010, an announcement was made stating that The Blaze was going to change to a "new" station providing listeners with classic rock music with more hits from the 80's and 90's and will no longer be playing new active rock. A statement was made that this new change is what the "listeners in Utah wanted" and it will "guarantee we will want to stay". Having been a Utah based radio station stating that it will ALWAYS be a station for the listeners and fighting the tyranny of corporate radio everywhere, has made 97.5 The Blaze a station above the rest, setting it apart from all others. As is apparent by those signing this petition, we disagree with this change and insist that this station be restored to playing ALL forms of rock, not just new, not just old, not just hard, but be restored to the station for all Utah rock listeners and to continue to be the station for the listeners. If this change does not occur, we the under-signed will have no choice but to forever change our radio presets to another station who will.

We feel a great misjustice has occured in your decision to change 97.5 The Blaze to a station consisting of only classic rock hits. The Blaze, being a local radio station has never and will never have the most listeners or the highest numbers in comparision to those stations owned by Citidel Broadcasting and other corporations like it. But it has something better, it has loyal listeners. The Blaze's listeners faught for what we believe to be OUR station, and we will fight for it again and again if needed. We are a family united together for Rock and Roll and we feel that you are no longer listening. In no way are we asking for you to stop playing the classics, but we feel you made a mistake in eliminating the new active hits of today. We ask that you restore 97.5 The Blaze back to it's original glory and play all types of rock, the new and the old so that it may be restored to the station for the people. If this mistake is not corrected, we will have no other choice but to change our station to one that will.
