The State's unfair 3 strikes laws only apply to those of us living in California that cannot afford an expensive legal team and wind up having to depend on a State Public Defender that's only job is to make sure that the judges keep up their predetermined conviction rates so they can qualify for re-election which is at least 95% while the white collar criminals get away with whatever they want to do because they have a lot of money which is unconstitutional. The State's current stand has the jails and prisons here so overcrowded that even the United States Supreme Court has told them that they have to back down on the overcrowded jails. The State also needs to back down on the 3 strikes laws which unfairly discriminate against the average Californian since the majority of us are in the position of needing a Public Defender which guarantees that we cannot get a fair deal out of the California criminal justice system especially since it is the only State that will give us a third strike for a non-violent felony which is something they seem to be hooked on just as much as the drug criminals they incarcerate. We need change.
