Save the Pitcher Plant Habitat

Hello, my name is Greg Nevels. I would like to bring to your attention the peril that is facing our nation's wetlands. As of today, there are only 2% of the original wetlands left that were here when Europeans first settled this continent. These wetlands harbor an amazing variety of animal and plant life, as well as act as a buffer to hurricanes and tropical storms. They act as a filter to clean the water that runs through them into the sea. Among the most facinating plant life that inhabits the wetlands are the Carnivorous Plants, and among them, the beautiful and stately Sarracenia. These amazing plants are getting closer to extinction everyday. With every new encroachment by a casino, mall, or other development , we face the stark reality of losing some of nature's most amazing and wonderful plant life.  Please sign this petition. We desperately need Congress to pass legislation giving these plants, and their habitats, federal protection.
