Demand an End to the Persecution of Father Andrew McCormick by the District Attorney of Philadelphia

The District Attorney of Philadelphia has twice brought Father Andrew McCormick to trial and twice failed to convince a jury to convict him. Initial claims and suppositions made by the District Attorney during press conferences have been proven false, and several statements made by the alleged victim have been contradicted under oath. Countless character witnesses have testified that not only have they never seen or experienced anything unprofessional or immoral from Father McCormick, but they also consider him to have been an excellent mentor for young people and a hard-working, courteous, and holy man of faith.

Through media accounts, it has become known that the District Attorney, acting through Assistant District Attorney Kristen Kemp, was willing to reduce Father McCormick's potential sentence from a minimum 25 years in prison to a maximum 4 years probation in exchange for a guilty plea from the priest. The offer (declined by Father McCormick) stands as proof that the main objective of the District Attorney is not to keep someone they believe to be a rapist and child molester off the streets but rather to inflate their own conviction statistics.

Sign this petition because the District Attorney has tried twice and failed twice to convict Father McCormick. Sign this petition because you don't want more of your tax money spent on a trial and investigation that has been going on since 2011. Sign this petition because it's not fair for a man of limited financial resources to spend more than $100,000 to defend his name for a third straight time.

Sign this petition because a man's freedom is more important to you than the win-loss record of District Attorney R. Seth Williams and Assistant District Attorney Kristen Kemp.
