Community Organizing & Resource Support

This is really a Social Service topic - but I am addressing these issues "Politically".

I have written an essay about some of the social problems that are common in many communities and I wanted to offer some suggestions on solutions for people in government jobs, to be able to work towards changing the current environment and the policies around certain populations - where people who are affected by these conditions could benefit. [Also addressing how some of those issues affect people's communities.]

I͟M͟P͟O͟R͟T͟A͟N͟T͟ ͟E͟S͟S͟A͟Y͟:͟ ͟
I'd like to send this open letter out into the world:

Hello - I would just like to mention that with all of the money that is generated in the world, there are so many social issues that should absolutely not be social issues any longer. There are some fields and some careers where people are consistently making tons of money. No one loses out on that and people are still able to manage businesses, organize their communities, fund their education - etc. But still… There is homelessness. There are barriers to basic health care. There are people stuck making minimum wage when it should have been raised to be double what it is, a long a__ time ago…

This B.S. has been killing people.

It is such a maintained oppressive situation.
It makes no sense to me and never will.

But I hope people realize how easy it would be to provide a solution to almost all social problems if there weren't so many greedy capitalist monsters in politics [and business] that choose not to fix these problems & create unnecessary issues because of their unfair ideologies. It's really common sense and just a little extra effort.
We all need to be a bit better about extending empathy.

And also irresponsible politicians and regular staffed business employees - that for the positions they are in - people on your own side, people you depend on - are kind of stabbing you in the back. They are betraying the agendas they publicize and are not working towards making many of the changes they claim to stand by. There's a lot of performative bull to get support, and then we basically stay waiting… because we have to keep talking about it. [And what is really happening with donations that are made ?] This remains a constant problem that we understand is out of so many people's hands; and people need to work together & delegate better. Keeping problems around doesn't mean you keep your job. That doesn't even make any sense.

Please think progressively.

There are so many things people could do to make access to education more affordable, [more opportunities for Grants and Scholarships], to make their communities better, to create all sorts of new opportunities for people… but people are greedy - they live beyond their means, and they hold out on people. I will never try to take money away from people who have earned their living, that is not what I'm saying. I am simply drawing attention to the fact that there is a s___ ton of money out there, and some people will always be making a s___ ton of money. So let's put some of that into a new purpose, and seriously eradicate social problems that do. not. need. to. be. p͟r͟o͟b͟l͟e͟m͟s͟. any. longer.

So who can we speak to about this?

S͟o͟l͟u͟t͟i͟o͟n͟:͟
Local Community Organizers, Mayors, State Politicians, National Level Leaders who facilitate the eligibility process for money & resources.

Who can we write to, what can we propose?

S͟o͟l͟u͟t͟i͟o͟n͟:͟
Write to your local Community Leaders. Your state government leaders - Senators, & Governors.

Write up an essay or a proposed outline for a plan suggesting what is needed to reform a problem and then ask for what you need to provide a solution to it. [Propose a plan where a specific budget could be allocated.]

There is no reason for there not to be more organizations established that specifically service at-risk communities and underrepresented populations where people are in need of shelter, food, and health care. [A place where they can clean up and not have to "register" somewhere to do it ?]

In cities where homelessness is a real issue - there should be designated parks or shelter areas available to them now with access to showers - like there is just no reason for people to be out on the streets anymore. T͟h͟e͟r͟e͟'͟s͟ ͟e͟n͟o͟u͟g͟h͟ ͟m͟o͟n͟e͟y͟ ͟o͟u͟t͟ ͟t͟h͟e͟r͟e͟ ͟t͟o͟ ͟f͟i͟x͟ ͟t͟h͟e͟s͟e͟ ͟p͟r͟o͟b͟l͟e͟m͟s͟, people need to utilize part of their budget to address needs like these specifically.

S͟e͟t͟ ͟u͟p͟ ͟a͟ ͟n͟e͟w͟ ͟s͟y͟s͟t͟e͟m͟.͟

I know there are a lot of social service organizations out there but homelessness is still a problem - and still lower income families and middle income families struggle to keep up with their living expenses and keeping active insurance policies for their health care needs.
O͟b͟t͟a͟i͟n͟i͟n͟g͟ ͟H͟e͟a͟l͟t͟h͟ ͟C͟a͟r͟e͟ ͟s͟h͟o͟u͟l͟d͟ ͟b͟e͟ ͟m͟a͟d͟e͟ ͟a͟ ͟s͟i͟m͟p͟l͟e͟ ͟p͟r͟o͟c͟e͟s͟s͟.͟ Some people are a lot closer to homelessness than you realize!
There are a lot of people barely making it out there living paycheck to paycheck - hourly wage and salaries need a serious boost for people to be able to take better care of themselves for real! It's crazy - and seriously unfair.

N͟o͟t͟e͟:͟
[Invest in tents and shower bags. e͟x͟a͟m͟p͟l͟e͟:͟ ͟Camping gear] 💡

Also - I know the issue with this is that people think that to help these populations, you need to keep people contained: I really don't think that's necessary, but it may provide the best solution for people to make a transition back into society - and it is completely possible for people to create new organizations that address all of these people's issues and the barriers they face trying to afford basic living essentials, by specifically focusing on how to provide a way for them to be eligible for certain resources; helping them apply for jobs, assisting them with their taxes, assisting them with their health care needs  - where they can be part of their communities in an independent way.

S͟t͟a͟r͟t͟ ͟a͟ ͟n͟e͟w͟ ͟p͟r͟o͟c͟e͟s͟s͟ ͟f͟o͟r͟ ͟p͟e͟o͟p͟l͟e͟ ͟w͟h͟o͟ ͟a͟r͟e͟ ͟"͟u͟n͟i͟d͟e͟n͟t͟i͟f͟i͟e͟d͟"͟.͟ ͟
C͟r͟e͟a͟t͟e͟ ͟a͟ ͟n͟e͟w͟ ͟w͟a͟y͟ ͟t͟o͟ ͟i͟d͟e͟n͟t͟i͟f͟y͟ ͟t͟h͟e͟m͟ and help them become a working member of society - even if that means they are only working for a non - profit that has been organized to help their very population = homeless people.

People should not be criminalized for being homeless.

[If they were criminals they'd be in jail.]

Also, work to build low income housing opportunities that are managed through those organizations so there can be accountability for who they are providing for. Where people are indefinitely taken care of, they qualify because they need it the most - and they can prove their eligibility.
Speak out locally to business owners and / or  local leaders, like a Mayor for example, to discuss these kinds of issues to see what can be done. Unless there are other health issues or mental health issues that require different attention, we should establish a way for people to be a working part of society, and to live independently, if they are able to work and have the skills to do so.

□ It's the government's responsibility to take care of their citizens. Cities, States - speak up for your people in need.
[Reach out to your Community Leaders]

□ Also, [regular people in general] can work to provide resources for the people that need them. I always try to think about it in a way where I question what I would do if everything was taken away from me - and that's why it's so important to support government organizations such as Social Services and Welfare Services - and all Non - Profit organizations that provide assistance & shelter, and make people who are in need a priority. It's simple community organizing and general humanitarian support. It's extra effort from a few individuals. It's being a good humanitarian, to care and to want to clean up and help people who are struggling with not having enough of what they need. It's not hard, people just need more resources.

And it will clean up your environment!

□ No one's life should be at risk because they can't afford enough to survive. There are people out there and places / space available - out there to help and we just need to provide more of them - and use them efficiently. People need to help each other. [I'm sorry this is written with such frustration or has become repetitive - I am just so sick of watching people take advantage of others when they have all the ability and access to make things better. It is so discouraging.] There may be people out there taking advantage - but you'd be surprised at how many 'well off' people are more often the ones taking advantage of people where helping has become competitive [distributing has been made harder to process] and people are indirectly held back; carelessness & greed, rather than poor people lying about things to get more resources. You can keep track - there is only so much you can get through social service organizations anyway. It starts at the top - and people in positions of political authority need to work together with businesses to come up with a new budget to allocate needed resources to people in need. [And homeless people need to keep their designated areas picked up. It's a blessing for many people that they are even able to stay on certain streets.]

G͟o͟a͟l͟:͟ Make it a new business plan.

I understand there needs to be a process to obtain shelter and needed living items - and resources are scarce, I understand. I see how the systems work and also how people hold out - But sometimes the very organizations that are working for people, that provide resources through eligibility, make it a lot harder than it needs to be and are directly working against the very populations they should be serving. It can actually become very oppressive and we shouldn't be keeping things like that.

S͟i͟d͟e͟ ͟N͟o͟t͟e͟:͟
E͟M͟P͟O͟W͟E͟R͟ ͟P͟E͟O͟P͟L͟E͟ TO PARTICIPATE BY OFFERING VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES, WHERE THEY CAN LATER WORK THEIR WAY UP.
[Increasing awareness for opportunities through flyers and other general information that is resourced publicly.]

A͟c͟c͟o͟u͟n͟t͟a͟b͟i͟l͟i͟t͟y͟ ͟i͟s͟ ͟i͟m͟p͟o͟r͟t͟a͟n͟t͟.͟ ͟C͟o͟m͟m͟u͟n͟i͟c͟a͟t͟i͟o͟n͟ ͟i͟s͟ ͟i͟m͟p͟o͟r͟t͟a͟n͟t͟.͟ ͟A͟p͟p͟l͟y͟i͟n͟g͟ ͟f͟o͟r͟ ͟g͟r͟a͟n͟t͟s͟ ͟i͟s͟ ͟i͟m͟p͟o͟r͟t͟a͟n͟t͟.͟

I know there are good people out there - there are so many people that make donations and volunteer and people are So Thankful For You! So people need to come together, communicate, plan and work together to make sure that at-risk populations, and poor populations are able to get what they need to take care of themselves - and get people off the street!

Things are so cheap. It's so easy to make a box of stuff from the dollar store or Walmart and provide these things to people. It's really not much.

Go Big - Do Bulk!

It's hard out there even for people that do make "enough" money. Societies need to change. They need "reform".  Leadership needs to change. We need some new strategies to combat some of these problems in the world. We need better use of resources - there are so many upgrades and new things out there - for so affordable now, Use Them! And get them to people in need.

Keep your environments clean.

I hope this reaches the right people & they see the need to get involved.
Thank You for listening!

N͟o͟t͟e͟:͟ There is so much waste out there, and there are a lot of organizations that would be willing to work with businesses & [people who would like to make donations] to keep extra things that are not sold or expired, things that are still good or useful; because ultimately they will be the ones who have the authority to provide funds and organize for these kinds of efforts.

S͟u͟g͟g͟e͟s͟t͟i͟o͟n͟:͟ ͟
Make a new designated area for people to go!
Build a park, a shelter area with public bathrooms and showers - specifically designed & relocated for these homeless populations [with tents and tarps] for people to move into, until they decide to register for benefits and shelter elsewhere or otherwise… fundraise to create a new space for these people, so we can keep our environments clean and people can feel protected in a space of their own, where they are comfortable.
