Declawing Cats Is Painful Amputation. It's Time to Ban It Nationwide.

Declawing a cat isn't a harmless grooming procedure – it's a brutal amputation. The procedure removes the last bone of each toe, comparable to cutting off a human finger at the last knuckle. And the consequences are devastating.

Thankfully, more and more states are waking up to the cruelty of declawing. In good news for animal rights, Rhode Island just joined New York, Maryland, Massachusetts, and Virginia in banning the awful practice.

Sign the petition to demand that the rest of the U.S. states take action and end this senseless suffering!

Cats who are declawed often suffer for the rest of their lives. Chronic pain, nerve damage, back issues, and behavior problems are all common outcomes. Without claws to stretch, mark territory, or defend themselves, many cats become anxious, aggressive, or even stop using the litter box altogether. These issues frequently lead to abandonment or surrender to overcrowded shelters.

Humane alternatives like scratching posts, regular nail trims, and behavior training make declawing completely unnecessary. It's time to protect cats with compassion and science, not outdated and cruel procedures.

Sign the petition to demand that lawmakers across the country ban cat declawing and protect our feline companions from needless pain!
