PACIFICANS OF ALL STATIONS, UNITE!

The members of Pacifica's stations must put an end to the factional fighting that is destroying our network NOW, and reassert the Pacifica Mission Statement as our guiding principle.

PACIFICANS OF ALL STATIONS, UNITE!

It is time that all sides stop their fight, which threatens to take the network into oblivion.

This radio network belongs to ALL of us, and not to a few involved in relatively small factions who dare to claim to hold our destiny in their hands without our consent.

It is time for Summer Reese (and those supporting her claims) and for Margy Wilkinson (and those supporting her claims) to heed the Pacifica Mission Statement, call a ceasefire and negotiate their differences. What is currently taking place is so opposed to Lou Hill’s desires* (see excerpt from the Pacifica Mission Statement, below).

Pacifica has not fulfilled its potential, which grows even more enormous when pitted against the global economic crisis and the ongoing destruction of this planet. WE NEED THIS VOICE -- OUR VOICE -- NOT MERELY TO SURVIVE, BUT TO THRIVE.

To that end, we, the members of Pacifica, demand that all Court proceedings be suspended, that a re-vote for Chair of the National Board be taken, that the parties enter into further negotiations to save and support Pacifica, and that no Pacifica signals or property be considered for lease, swap or sale for a period of at least two years.

It is time we devote our creative energies to doing radio and focus our attention on how to improve our programming, promotion, membership numbers, and finances.

*From the Pacifica Mission Statement:

"In radio broadcasting operations:

- to engage in any activity that shall contribute to a lasting understanding between nations and between the individuals of all nations, races, creeds and colors;

- to gather and disseminate information on the causes of conflict between any and all of such groups;

- and through any and all means compatible with the purposes of this corporation to promote the study of political and economic problems and of the causes of religious, philosophical and racial antagonisms."

It's time we started applying the Pacifica Mission to ourselves.
