Make Drag Racing Seat belts certification good for 5 years (NHRA)

Currently the NHRA (National Hot Rod Association) requires new seat belts be installed every 2 years for drag racing competition. These seat belts cost an entry price of $59.99 and range up to $250. They are usually 4" wide construction and 5 point harness with heavy galvanized hardware. These seatbelts have a lot more life in them then 2 years. After 2 years, the galvanize finish isn't even dull. While you can get these recertified, the cost + shipping makes it not worth the effort. I believe these seat belts are good without compromise for at least 5 years. Consider your daily driving car has a basic 3" ribbon style seat belt that never needs changing... These massive 4" /5pt harness are barely used in comparison to daily driving and yet require changing every 2 years... this is a massive waist of money and only benefilts seat belt manfacturers.
