Demand Fair Pricing for Solar Power in Australia

Many parts of Australia are very, very sunny. That's a good enough reason for the country to go full steam ahead with solar power. Renewable energies like wind and solar power are the planet's best defense against that ravages of climate change: temperature extremes, killing storms, and flooding. However, as in other parts of the world, getting hooked up to solar power can depend on the good will of the local utility provider.

Australia's Green Party has an ambitious proposal for stimulating growth of solar energy that includes making utility companies prove that they can't connect a customer, allocating millions for solar in schools, and establishing renters' rights to solar.

Please join me in asking Australia's parliament to vote yes on the Greens' solar initiative.

Dear Parliament Members:

I was thrilled to read that the Green Party has come up with an ambitious plan to support solar energy in Australia. And I urge you to support this plan. It's all good. Solar energy is Australia's best defense against the coming storms, flooding, and temperature extremes of climate change. Utility companies must be held accountable for whether or not they afford a reasonable opportunity to hook up to solar panels. Everyone should have this option, from the biggest businesses to tiny home owners. Please vote yes on the Greens' solar initiative.
