STOP LAMPING AND SHOOTING AT NIGHT FROM VEHICLES IN IRELAND

  • by: James Pembroke
  • recipient: Jimmy Deenihan TD Minister for Arts, Heritage & Gaeltacht Affairs in Ireland

Lamping involves the shooting of deer and other animals such as foxes at night and is done by shining spotlights to stop the animal before killing it. There is nothing sporting in this illegal activity and its dangerous!

The bullet of a heavy calibre weapon at night has over three miles of trajectory which is dangerous to livestock and humans.

Dear Minister Deenihan,

Please ensure that you inforce the law and legislate accordingly to stop the illigal lamping and shooting of wildlife at night in Ireland.
