Tell Lady Gaga to Stop Wearing Fur!

Lady Gaga has recently been seen wearing fur coats, despite claiming to be anti-fur.

The singer has caused controversy for going back on her word. In 2009, on the Ellen show she said, "I hate fur, and I don't wear fur." However, she has been seen wearing fox, rabbit and even a wolf carcass.

PETA Senior VP Dan Mathews has warned Gaga that unless she changes her behaviour, she could face the same fate as Kim Kardashian, who was flour-bombed on the red carpet for the same offence. He has explained that the animals, “are anally electrocuted, skinned alive, drowned, entrapped” to get their fur.

Lady Gaga has emerged as a fashion icon. For her to continue to wear fur implicitly condones the cruelty involved in its production. We must call on her to stop immediately.

Dear Lady Gaga,

We the undersigned are saddened to see that you have gone back on your word with regards to wearing fur.

On the Ellen show (2009) you claimed to be anti-fur, yet you have been seen publicly wearing fox, rabbit and a wolf carcass. You must be aware of the horrendous procedure that animals are subjected to by the fur trade. The act of wearing fur clothing shows you to be insensitive to the cruelty that innocent animals are subjected to. With high quality designer faux fur clothing available, there really is no need.

We call on you to respond to the criticism and, as a public figure, stand firm against the fur trade.

Thank you for your attention.
