The People of Colorado for Stable Finances

  The Federal Reserve has gone rampant with power in these modern times.  The needless bailouts of companies like AIG, Lehman Bros, Merrill Lynch, plus the unwinding of Freddy Mac and Fannie Mae has certainly caused a disturbance in the modern free market of today.  The actions of the FED have not only weakened the dollar but also cost Joe Plumber his retirement.
  After many questions from the House of Representatives as to the workings of the FED and where our money disappeared, the Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernake has denied any sort of look into the Federal Reserves secrets; there has been no sort of disclosure to date from the FED.  Their inability to disclose their Books is troubling to a citizen of the US at the least.
   Due to a previous law passed the FED is protected from questioning or scrutiny in all regards from our Congress.
  A 1 Trillion dollar deficit on record, plus the possibility of that number growing should be the forefront of the modern citizen's thinking during these recent debates on health care in the US. 
  Further government control of any sort is only subject to repeat a history of taking money out of the little guys pocket. 
If the FED has such broad powers to audit our personal taxes is it not only fair for the people to know their Governments spending policies as well?

This petition targets Senators Udall and Bennet as well as Representative DeGette's Co-Sponsorship of H.R. 1207 (The Federal Reserve Transparency Act)

H.R. 1207 will, if passed, give Congress a look into the Federal Reserve's books.  Needless to say that would be one step towards a more transparent government.
