Prime Minister Gillard,

Our country has repeatedly signed United Nations declarations on human rights without codifying the provisions within into our national law. This negates any positive influence the declarations may have. While the United Nations Human Rights Committee has the power to find Australia in violation of the declarations we have signed, the government has repeatedly rejected such decisions, particularly in instances where asylum seekers are concerned.

We the undersigned, demand that our country gives us the rights which international law says we possess. We demand that any rights offered by the declarations our country is signatory to be encoded in Australian law.
