Apache County Juvenile Justice System,
As fine citizens of these United States of America, we are vigorously requesting the members of the Apache County Juvenile Justice System to immediately release the 9 year old boy, Child Romero, into the custody of his biological mother, Eryn Thomas Bloomfield and/or other responsible family members as determined by his Defense Attorney, Mr. Benjamin Brewer of the Wood Law Office and Mr. Albert B. Lassen, his appointed Guardian Ad Litem. As citizens of this great country in which ALL its citizens are protected under the U.S. Constitution, Federal laws, and State laws, we do robustly disagree with the detainment of this young Romero child in the Apache County Juvenile Detention Center in St. Johns, AZ.
We are appalled in which this child's rights have been violated by the St. Johns Police Department; the overzealous conduct of Chief of Police Roy Melnick, in pursuing the child to be prosecuted as an adult; the shackling and handcuffing of this boy while still only 8 years old; his detainment in near isolation without appropriate socialization; the critical delay of grief therapy for this child after witnessing a very traumatizing and life altering event; the overzealous prosecution without significant legal evidence presented to proceed; the untimely delays in court proceedings putting this child%u2019s right to a speedy trial at risk; and more in which this child has suffered under the care of the various Apache County Juvenile Justice System%u2019s departments including the St. Johns%u2019 Police Department and the Apache County Prosecutor%u2019s Office.
In the respect of society%u2019s safety concerns, we would not be opposed to the order of House Arrest, with or without the application of an electronic ankle bracelet for this child, while a proper and thorough investigation of the Romero/Romans crime is conducted and concluded.
We, vehemently, request that an immediate resolution to 9 year old child Romero%u2019s release be expatiated.
