MAKE IT ILLEGAL TO EXPERIMENT ON PRIMATES IN IRELAND

The IRISH ANTI-VIVISECTION SOCIETY calls on the Irish Government to enact legislation immediately to ensure that PRIMATES WILL NEVER AGAIN BE USED OR BRED IN IRELAND FOR EXPERIMENTS.

"While it is the practice in Ireland not to licence an experiment involving the use of primates" (Department of Health, Ireland), primate experiments are not prohibited by law.

It is possible that the Department of Health's 'practice' could be changed in the future to allow experiments on primates.

We, the undersigned, request that the Minister for Health ensures the Government passes legislation to make experiments on primates against the law in Ireland.
