Demand Nassau County to Repair Cold Spring Road in Laurel Hollow, NY

In 2015, Nassau County under the Mangano Administration agreed to repave Cold Spring Road just north of Southwoods Road up to Route 25A/North Hempstead Turnpike, within the boundaries of the Incorporated Village of Laurel Hollow, entirely in asphalt. The roadway’s current condition of unleveled concrete pavement with pitted asphalt shoulders has been notoriously dangerous, resulting in damage to vehicles and countless accidents. The negligence of the County has resulted in many claims against the County. Before injury and/or death results from the perilous conditions of this aging roadway, we are asking the Curran Administration to uphold the County’s agreement and repave the roadway. The Curran Administration has been sympathetic to the predicament of Laurel Hollow residents. The roadway of Cold Spring Road in the unincorporated area (hamlet) of Syosset (Town of Oyster Bay) has been repaired but the fate of roadway within the villlage is still unknown. By signing this petition, you are requesting the County Executor to remedy the roadway as originally agreed upon in 2015.
