Make the Brown Family's roles on Family Guy More Substantial

It's been almost 13 years since Cleveland Brown and his son, Junior, moved back to Quahog with their new family members, following the cancellation of The Cleveland Show. While both Cleveland and his wife, Donna, have been well integrated back into Peter and Lois's friend circles, their family has been extremely underutilized. They're not the main characters anymore, but that doesn't mean they're pointless or should simply appear for the sake of appearance. In fact, they have major potential that could see them playing more significant roles. Take Donna, for example. Often reduced to a background character or just one of the "girlfriends," even though she's more competent, unique, and strong-willed compared to Lois of late. Rarely does she receive individual storylines or meaningful development. Donna's established traits as a "badass," sassy, and protective mother who isn't afraid to confront problems or defend family should be leveraged. Imagine her featured in action-oriented plots or challenging others' questionable decisions, making her role more compelling. Meanwhile, Junior, aged 15 and in the same class as Chris (who is now 16), is often sidelined in favor of other characters, though he has untapped potential. He could be Chris's best friend and straight man, highlighting his intelligent, "old-soul" nature as an academic and potential social foil, contrasting Chris's mundane ways as overweight, middle children. Roberta, aged 17, who should be in the senior class with Meg, has been reduced to a non-speaking, background character. She holds sharp-witted potential from The Cleveland Show that's remained untapped. Roberta and Meg could have a dynamic friendship, juxtaposing insults with Meg training in a parody-style plot to become more popular. Their interactions could encourage her rebellious nature and offer room for character development. Lastly, there's Rallo, often silent now, yet his smart-talking potential could shine through. Though his friendship with Stewie may be improbable due to age differences, teaming with his siblings and the Griffin kids fosters better family interactions. Occasionally involving Stewie and Rallo in plots, leveraging their close schools' geography, could spark engaging storylines. It's time Family Guy writers and showrunners quit wasting time and potential. Sign and share this petition to push for better, more engaging storylines involving the Brown family. Together, we can help the show tap into these unexplored dynamics, making it richer and perhaps even steering it to win that long-envisioned Emmy.
