Teens Tortured and Killed Kittens. It's Time They Get the Mental Health Treatment They Need.

Two teens -- one of whom dreamed of killing human beings -- were found guilty of torturing and murdering two kittens, and the details of the case are horrific.

One of the kittens was found cut open and hung with a rope in the London suburb of Ruislip, having clearly been sadistically mutilated. Evidence shows that the incident was premeditated, too. Describing the killings, a judge noted that the incidents were "without a doubt the most awful offences against animals I have seen in this court."

Both of the teens were sentenced to detention. But will locking the kids up temporarily, without actually addressing the underlying violence, actually protect other animals from the same fate?

Sign the petition asking for mandatory mental health counseling for these individuals!

Clearly, the two teenagers who committed these acts are deeply unwell. Evidence from the boy's phone shows deeply disturbing and violent thoughts that he had been having long before committing this atrocity. What will actually protect future people and animals from this kind of violence is getting the perpetrators access to ongoing mental health support. Research has repeatedly shown that this is the most effective way to address the root of violence like this and prevent reoffending or escalation.

Sign the petition now to tell local authorities: keep people and animals safe by getting these teenagers the help they need!
