Remove Columbus Statue from Chicago’s Arrigo Park

In Chicago's medical district, a nine foot tall statue of Columbus "greets" you as you enter Arrigo Park. There is a reason Columbus statues are being taken down across our country: he was a colonizer and committed acts of genocide and devastating historical exploitation of the Indigenous peoples in this land.
It is time to support the removal of this monument- complacency no more! This statue was resurrected in the 1890s and moved to this location in the 1960s. To no longer celebrate genocide and historical trauma, lets make 2020 the year this statue is removed.
