Stop Mass Dog Culls!

Millions of dogs per year are killed by painful methods (poison, beatings and gassings) in a misguided attempt to stop rabies. Though rabies kills approximately 55,000 people per year, the World Health Organization, the World Organization for Animal Health and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations agree that killing dogs doesn't stop the spread of rabies to people.

A program called the Red Collar Campaign presents a humane and effective alternative: vaccinating dogs against rabies. Vaccinating 70% of a local dog population, in combination with educating citizens about rabies, creates an effective barrier of immunity that protects animals and people.

Please sign the petition to end cruel and useless dog culls in favor of humane and effective rabies control methods.

To: Indonesia and Philippines Authorities

As you know, millions of dogs per year are killed by painful methods (poison, beatings and gassings) in a misguided attempt to stop rabies in Indonesia and the Philippines. Though we understand that rabies kills approximately 55,000 people per year, the World Health Organization, the World Organization for Animal Health and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations agree that killing dogs doesn't stop the spread of rabies to people.

A program called the Red Collar Campaign presents a humane and effective alternative: vaccinating dogs against rabies. Vaccinating 70% of a local dog population, in combination with educating citizens about rabies, creates an effective barrier of immunity that protects animals and people.

We respectfully urge you to outlaw cruel and useless dog culls and instead adopt humane and effective methods of controlling rabies. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider our petition.
