Pledge To Adopt Your Next Pet

Millions of animals every year are brought into shelters, and only a small portion ever leave. Around four million are euthanized due to overpopulation, with many of those animals fit to be adopted and live long, healthy lives with loving families.

How can this be prevented?

Simple: adopt your next pet from a shelter. By signing this, you pledge to take home a pet in desperate need of a home. If everyone were to adopt at least one dog or cat, imagine how rapidly the euthanasia rate would decrease, how many animals would now have a home, and how much more enriching people's lives would be with a new companion.

Finding the right pet for you has been made easy through The Shelter Pet Project, which is a project made by The Humane Society of the United States, Maddie's Fund, and The Ad Council. It allows you to find the perfect pet located near your current location, based on a questionnaire. There are many others resources for your use there as well.

Also, Petfinder also allows you to look for pets other than cats and dogs.

Don't forget that neutering and spaying also helps to eliminate overpopulation as well.

By adopting, you will be making a huge difference in the life of that animal forever.
