Haywood county animal shelter pts animals every Monday and Thursday. There is no laws protecting animals in Haywood county or punishing animal abusers either. Currently the shelter is over populated. And the worst part is the animals have very little to no advertising of being there! The shelter is small and is actualy kinda hidden behind the local prision. The parking lot holds maybe eight cars!!!
Horrible Horrible conditions for these animals. The pens they are kept in are concrete floors. Some of the dogs get one blanket but most of them get nothing. Not even a toy... They split the mother dog and babies and put them in pens next to eachother!!! INSANE if you ask me that would be pure torture. Some of the animals dont get listed on PetFinder if any sign of disese or injury is present. They also get perm food/water dishes that are normaly empty every time im there.
The cats are not done much better. They get a litter box inside their steel cages and a food/water dish. The kittens are kept with the mom cat so sometimes there is four cats in one cage. Cats are the animal put down the most. Haywood is not a cat county and more cats are pts then are adopted out.
We the undersigned have come together to get justice for the animals of Haywood County. We understand there is no laws protecting animals from abuse and there is no punishment for people who abuse animals by commiting neglect of any kind. We want to bring justice for the animals that are poorly treated and abandon.
