Deforestation for Power Plant at Adra, India

The Indian Railway Minister Miss Mamata Banerjee has ordered officers of the Indian Railways to find land for construction of a captive thermal power plant at Adra , in the District of Purulia in West Bengal. The quantum of land required for the power plant will require deforestation of a huge forest built of on Railway Land that is now under the Forest Department of the Govt. of West Bengal. While Miss Banerjee has been extremely vocal in protest of conversion of Agriculrural land for building Industries she has after becoming a Central Government Minister no hesitation to remove a forest in the high temperature zone of Purulia and build a Power Plant for her petty political ambition of capturing power in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly.

Miss Mamata Banerjee may be warned against the negative effects of deforestation and should be made to withdraw from deforestation.
