Stop logging and urbanising Mt Coot-tha forest

Please sign this petition against the urbanising and forest destruction in Mt Coot-tha forest area near Brisbane. The flagship of this urbanisation is the  multi-million dollar "upgrade" of Gap Creek (forest) Rd to a "corridor". Gap Creek Rd is a forest road that meanders through Mt Coot-tha National Park area and there is access to national park picnic areas and walking tracks. Unfortunately some people were using this road as a short cut and the RACQ (Royal Automobile Society of Queensland) recommended the road be "upgraded" to accommodate more cars. Brisbane City Council has phenomenal rights over this area and are now causing havoc and destruction in our forest that is also costing the taxpayer/ratepayer millions of dollars. Why would any Government listen to the RACQ a group that promotes cars over forests and who wishes to make the roadside more friendly to cars (take the nasty trees away)? Why were so many established trees removed and why is the mountain being hacked away to smooth out curves, bends and humps all for the good of CARS? SAVE OUR TREES, SAVE OUR WILDLIFE FROM BECOMING ISOLATED BY A WIDENED BUSY ROAD AND FROM ENDING UP AS ROAD KILL AND SAVE OUR FOREST. Please sign this petition to stop Brisbane City Council further devastating our forest environment. Thankyou to all who support this petition and for all who fight to keep our forest areas safe for the trees, animals, waterways and for our future generations to enjoy.
We the undersigned request that Brisbane City Council adopt new Green approaches to forest areas in Brisbane area and that Brisbane City Council put forests and trees first in considering proposals and that they do not destroy trees, animal and the environment for the sake of cars and urbanisation.
Sincerely,
