During a six-week period from March to April 2013, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Animal and Plant Inspection Service (APHIS) inspected Rockland Immunochemical, Inc. an astounding three times. Every time, it found multiple violations of the Animal Welfare Act.

Please sign this petition to ask the USDA to impose a significant fine on Rockland Immunochemicals, Inc. for these violations. The animals deserve better.

Dear Dr. Goldentyer:

Those who have signed this petition, like many other members of the public, were distressed and saddened to learn of the multiple serious violations of the Animal Welfare Act that the USDA discovered during three inspections of Rockland Immunochemicals, Inc. over a six-week period from March to April 2013.

Your organization discovered a pattern of inadquate veterinary care, unsanitary conditions, and hundreds of animals suffering daily at the hands of workers without the most basic training in animal care. It must stop.

In light of the 26 documented violations -- some of them repeat violations -- we ask that you impose on this facility the most serious monetary fine available under the circumstances.

We thank you for giving this matter the attention it deserves.
