Assigned Lunch Seats Are Taking Our ONLY Socializing Time Away

MS READ* has called the district to give us D11 students assigned seats during our lunch times; claiming this will help stop fights. (Although, it really wont at all. Most fights are started OUTSIDE of school hours, and are brought out OUTSIDE during lunch)
At Jenkins Middle School, we (specifically 7th grade) have never gotten even ONE complaint of our behavior during lunches- and taking away our right to sit where we want is completely unsupported. Teachers cannot back any information up to give us a good reason as to why this is happening, and some even think it is unrealistic.
Sitting with our friends at lunch is the one time during the school day that we get to socialise with them, and get to act like KIDS. Taking this away out of the blue is so unbearably dumb, and not thought through at all.
Are we going to allow children to sit with the people that bully them, and berate them? Are we going to make it so people that despise each other have to sit next to each other- causing more fights?
    Dear, D11.
    Think. This. Through!

*Likely other teachers, but as of my knowledge Ms Read is the only one in Jenkins Middle School signing and asking for students to have assigned seats*
