Stop the genocide

Petition for an Immediate and Comprehensive Oil Embargo

To: The United Nations Security Council, The European Union, The Secretary-General of the United Nations, and All Member States of the International Community Committed to Human Rights and the Preservation of International Law

We, the undersigned citizens, organizations, and human rights advocates from around the world, hereby submit this urgent petition calling for the immediate imposition of a comprehensive oil embargo against the following entities:

    1. The United States military-industrial complex, specifically targeting the supply chains that provide fossil fuels for its military operations.
    2. The state governments and corporate entities within so-called "red states" that are materially and politically supporting, funding, and enabling acts of genocide and crimes against humanity.

Preamble: Whereas the principles of the United Nations Charter, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the Geneva Conventions form the bedrock of international law and human dignity; and

Whereas there exists overwhelming and credible evidence from international courts, human rights organizations, and UN experts that the United States government and its allies are committing acts that constitute genocide and crimes against humanity through their military and foreign operations; and

Whereas the military machinery enabling these atrocities is powered by fossil fuels, and the economic engines of the specific states within the United States that vocally support these policies are heavily reliant on the revenue from oil and gas production; and

    Whereas diplomatic condemnations and statements of concern have proven insufficient to halt the ongoing slaughter and suffering of civilian populations;

Therefore, we assert that economic pressure is a necessary and non-violent tool to compel compliance with international law.

    Justification for the Embargo:

    1. Material Support for Atrocities: The United States military is the single largest institutional consumer of oil in the world. Its ability to project power and conduct operations is entirely dependent on a constant and massive flow of petroleum products. By supplying this fuel, the global community becomes complicit in the atrocities it enables.
    2. Targeting Political Enablers: Specific states within the US ("red states") are not only political champions of the policies leading to these crimes but are also major producers of the oil and gas that fund their political machines and economies. An embargo directly targets the economic interests of the primary domestic enablers of these violations, creating a direct financial cost for their support of genocide.
    3. A Measure of Last Resort: This petition is brought forth after the consistent failure of all other measures. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has issued rulings, UN resolutions have been passed, and millions of people have protested globally, yet the atrocities continue and escalate. A targeted oil embargo is a peaceful, lawful, and potent form of sanctions aimed at crippling the capacity to commit further crimes.

    Our Demands:

We call upon the international community, and specifically upon all oil-producing and oil-trading nations, to:

    · Immediately halt all exports of crude oil, refined petroleum products, and liquefied natural gas (LNG) destined for the use of the United States Department of Defense and its contracted entities.
    · Impose stringent economic sanctions and import bans on oil, gas, and petrochemical products originating from states within the US that have provided substantial political and material support for the policies in question.
    · Freeze the assets of key energy corporations and state-owned enterprises based in these states that are directly funding the political apparatus enabling these crimes.
    · Establish an international monitoring body to ensure compliance with this embargo and to prevent the circumvention of these sanctions.

We believe that the right to life and dignity of civilian populations outweighs the economic and political considerations of continuing business as usual with entities engaged in mass murder. History will judge us not only for the atrocities committed but for our failure to use every peaceful means available to stop them.

The time for words has passed. The time for decisive action is now.
