I think that people in the town of Hempstead, Nassau County should be allowed to own Pygmy or dwarf goats as a pet. They are known to be well behaved, well mannered pets, and they are able to adapt to any climate. In other states and municipalities the zoning ordinances have been changed to allow their residents to keep goats in their yards. In other urban areas, as long as they are under 3 feet and under 100 pounds, people are able to keep 2 or 3 goats provided they can have appropriate housing and adequate space, and their vaccinations are kept up to date. They provide companionship and milk, and can be an education tool to teach our children about biology and natural environment. Please help us regain the healthy and natural lifestyle that our parents and grandparents enjoyed!
