Violations of human rights in the jails of Ecuador.

The current situation in the jails in Ecuador is worrying. There are criminals are killing our relatives and other prisoners due to the fact they are entering firearms into jail.

Currently, there is no competent local authority which can manage this situation (the forth so far this year). During the previous events, they did not take preventive actions, showing be absolutely ineptitude.

In addition, a poor judicial management, a corrupt system in the courts and prosecutors, and the court proceedings not moving forward, result in prisoners are deprived of liberty for more than three years waiting for their trial inside this dangerous environment.

In the last years, there haven't been any rehabilitation program or labour reinsertion in the Penal System.

In conclusion, what we request is The Human Right Organization send a formal commission of investigators to inspect the prisons in our country and see what are the reasons why these murders are occurring frequently, (according to alternative sources of information already exceed 300 dead prisoners and hundreds of wounded).
