Please Ban the slaughter of kangaroos
As a supporter of animal welfare, I am shocked that kangaroo - an animal specie imbued with so much grace, beauty and natural exuberance - continue to be slaughtered for meat. Needless to mention that many people refuse to eat the kangaroo meat, simply on the grounds that it holds a dignified position at being a part of the Australian emblem. As a concerned animal welfare activist, as well as being appalled that one of the animals that represents Australia is literally being eaten out of our flag, I would like to suggest that kangaroo be put on the list of Australia's protected species and that a permanent law be instated banning the slaughter of kangaroos.
