Help Haverford Reserve Dog Park, a Place for People and Their Pets!

The Haverford Reserve Dog Park is struggling. As the all-volunteer Board of Directors, we've been advocating to the township to get financial support around addressing the issues at the park, including ruts caused by water run-off, unearthed rocks and stones, debris, fence maintenance concerns, and more.

This once wonderful destination for people and their pets has slowly become considerably less inviting, as rocky ruts have formed, bees and termites have taken up residence in logs that were laid as an attempt to address grading issues, and debris from the former hospital site has been unearthed... all because of the water runoff and erosion. Even the fence is slowly becoming compromised.

The Township owns the parkland, and as volunteers, we can only do so much to maintain it.  The more expensive maintenance item of addressing the slope and the storm run-off which result in erosion are the responsibility of the Township.

Although Township Management has heard us and understands the problem and the solution, they are dragging their feet in working towards solving it. We need you to tell the Haverford Township Board of Commissioners just how much you love this park and want it to be restored back to the natural beauty it had when it first opened.

If you are a park patron, and especially a Haverford Township resident, please sign this petition, which will be sent to the Haverford Township Manager upon signature closure. Please also consider emailing the township commissioner directly, urging the township to give the dog park the support it needs!
