Save Bears From Cruel Confinement

Off a highway in North Carolina is the remote Cherokee Bear Zoo. It’s a decrepit tourist attraction confining about a dozen bears. These animals are being forced to live in horribly inhumane conditions. Their permanent home are empty concrete pits, where they have nothing to do but walk around – there’s no re-creation of bears’ natural habitat and there’s no attempt at stimulating the animals. There’s not even grass. Just cement.

This horrible ‘zoo’ has been cited several times by the U.S. Department of Agriculture because the owners are failing to meet the minimal federal standards which are established by the Animal Welfare Act.

The Cherokee Bear Zoo has been getting a lot of pressure recently by concerned citizens to move the bears to a reputable sanctuary. Sign this petition and help urge the owners to make the right decision and save the bears.
