Annapurna region is one of the famous tourist destination of Nepal which is located in North central of Nepal bounded by Kali Gandaki Gorge on west, Marshyandi river on east and north and beautiful Pokhara valley in the south. This region includes Annapurna I (8091 M) and other mountains above 6000M.This region is generous in its diversity, nature and culture, with great Himalayan scenery of Mt. Annapurna, Annapurna south, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Manaslu and other that extends 55 Km Long. This is one of the best regions of Nepal to be recon for trekking.

To have access to Annapurna Region, Pokhara valley is your gateway which lies 200 Km west of Kathmandu. You can step into this valley either by 30 min air to Pokhara or by 6 hour drive from the capital of country. Pokhara is the busiest tourist site of Nepal and offer almost every facilities required with luxury accommodation to great cuisine.  This region is home to various species of birds and animals and precious vegetation which is protected too (Annapurna Conservation Area). It was established in 1986 under the guidance of the King Mahendra Trust for Conservation of Nature. The project holds the entire Annapurna range, more than 7600 sq km. In an innovative approach to environmental protection it was declared a "conservation area" instead of a national park. This area begins from the elevation of 790 meter to 8901 meter (Mt. Annapurna). Forests, forested hills and mountains, high Himalayas, Himalayan desert plateau types of landscape can be found here. Its climate is much cooler as it lies in higher altitude. Summer are cool/temperate at days but nights gets cold while winters are very cold and can get extreme with snowfall at higher regions. People like Gurungs, Thakali, Magars and Brahman are found in lower part of this region while as you move up people with more Tibetan culture are found. It possess the beauty of snowcapped peaks, very holy temples and Buddhist Monasteries, antique villages with friendly ethnic groups, Thorang la pass, rivers, lakes and deep gorge, stunning views of mountains like Annapurna, Manaslu, Fishtail, etc. with clear blue skies, animals like:  Pica, Blue Sheep, Himalayan Tahr, Bear, Leopard, Monkey etc and vegetation like bamboo, Pine, oak, Juniper, Rhododendron, alpine forest etc also Annapurna conservation Area are its main highlights.

Well Nepal has been organizing trekking campaign like Annapurna view Panorama, Annapurna Base camp, Ghorepani Poon Hill, Jomsom Muktinath Trek, Mardi Himal trek etc. since a decade, which are very popular treks in Annapurna region. Trek at Annapurna is full of adventure and a great way to get attached with ancient culture and biodiversity, beautiful vistas of snowy mountains and people’s lifestyle while passing through some its trails. This is a moderate trek and one with good physical fitness can participate in this campaign. September to December & March to May are the best period of the year to take perfect entertainment and experience of Annapurna Region.
