Demand that San Antonio Animal Control be held accountable for Sophia’s negligent death

Sophia’s puppies were pulled from her at 4 weeks old to have a foster continue doing what she should have been allowed to do, finish caring for her babies until they were ready to be weaned. She was then set to be euthanized at the hands of San Antonio Texas Animal Control Services. Rescue heard her fate and scrambled to pull her. They succeeded and she was set to be pulled for rescue. Since ACS won’t allow an animal to leave their facility intact, they spayed her. Spayed her 4 weeks after giving birth. Still full of milk, she suffered complications and passed away. Why wasn’t she allowed rescue with her puppies? Why were they taken from their Mom at only 4 weeks? Why are the ones housing an animal facility so ignorant at protocol for safely weaning puppies or for safely spaying an animal? They’re supposed to have the best interest of the animals at heart. Instead they are the cause for the wrongful and senseless death of a dog who should have had a second chance at life. Should have had a chance for a real family. Should have had a chance to complete her task as a Mama. Should have been allowed rescue with her puppies. Please sign and share this petition to hold this facility accountable for Sophia’s death and for the endangerment of her 4 week old puppies. Justice for Sophia and her puppies is a must. This can not be allowed to happen to another Mama dog and her babies.
