Restore Federal Unemployment Benefits!

The proposed 2014/16 Federal Budget does not include an extension of Federal Unemployment Benefits.  More that 1.5 million people who have been unemployed for more than 1 year will be thrown under the bus in order to protect tax cuts for the rich and funding for the Department of Defense.  Those most affected by the cuts will not be subject to further degradation of their economic status and will not face homelessness, continued unemployment, reliance on other government services.  It will not only affect the unemployed but their family and the community.  Everyone benefits when an unemployed person receives benefits because these benefits are immediately reinvested in the community.  There is no positive effect in cutting the benefits.  The jobs are just not out there especially for older workers who are to young to retire but who have a much harder time finding employment.  I urge you to sign the petition and contact your representatives in Congress before any more damage is done to these people and this country.  Thank you.
