No Apes as pets in Canada!

I am creating this petition because I believe humans do not have the right to buy, sell or own apes.
Apes are like humans in so many ways, not only in their anatomy, but in ther emotions as well. They feel despair, happiness,  jealousy, frustration, terror, anger, etc.
Many apes, in particular chimpanzees are often bought by people who genuinely care about them, but do not know what they are supporting or what they have signed up for.
One of the main problems with apes as pets is,of course their strength, combined with their intelligence. They atart out as cute babies, but often become dangerous as they age, and their lifespan is anywhere from 40-60 years. Many often end up in research labs where they are subjected to cruel experiements, or in roadside zoos because they are impossible to care for.

Many zoos and sanctuaries have problems taking in ex-pets, because they develop abnormally, and often find it difficult to socialize with their own kind.
