Trump's earlier tariffs (and tariff threats) caused stock markets to plummet, and put us into unnecessary trade wars with our allies and adversaries alike. And months later, just when it looked like things on that front were starting to edge back towards normalcy -- he doubled down today and introduced a whole new round of sky-high tariffs. And not surprisingly, the stock market went way down, and the odds of a recession went way up.
Congress can put an end to this madness. Congress has the power to overturn Trump's tariffs, and they can do it right now with a simple majority vote. Tell them to do it NOW.
Prices on almost everything are already rising, as companies price in the ones previously announced. Even if Trump reverses them, the damage is already done, with the whole world economy now having to price in the roller coasters mood swings of the looney in the White House.
For the sake of our entire economy and way of life, we need to DEMAND Republicans join with Democrats to REVERSE Trump's disastrous tariffs.
