UPDATE: "Got Your 6" is working to end homelessness for returning Veterans!
In military lingo, Got Your 6, means, I’ve got your back. It’s also the name of an initiative started by the entertainment industry to “change the conversation in America, so that our returning veterans are not seen as liabilities, but as assets.” We can all join this important movement!
Supported in part by the Clinton Global Initiative, according to its website, the goals of "Got Your 6" are simple and positive:
Inspire Americans to help bridge the civilian-military divide.
Provide tools, platforms, and resources that Americans can use to feel more comfortable with military and veteran culture.
Create opportunities for veterans and civilians to join together to reinvigorate our communities.
Celebrities like Tom Hanks and Michael Douglas are endorsing “Got Your 6” with public service announcements and movie studios Disney and Comcast have promised to hire thousands of veteran’s.
We can all contribute! Adopt the goals of Got Your 6 and pledge your support to America’s veterans!
