Sealand of the Pacific
In 1992 SeaWorld Orlando bought Tilikum, the biggest killer whale in captivity from Sealand of the pacific. In the few years that Tilikum was at Sealand of the Pacific he was kept in extremely small tanks as the other female killer whales were being aggressive to him and hurting him.
Keltie Byrne
In February 1991 Killer whale trainer Keltie Byrne was killed by Tilikum and another female Killer Whale when she fell into the tank. This led to Sealand selling Tilikum to SeaWorld. SeaWorld, too kept Tilikum and extremely small tanks all by himself. In the wild, Killer whales swims hundreds to miles everyday with their pods (family) and now he is locked in a 100-foot-by-50-foot pool, just 35 feet deep.
Dawn Branchau
Due to all the anxiety, stress, and depression Tilikum has at SeaWorld he tragically killed another trainer. Her name was Dawn Brancheau, she was 40 years old and she was the best, most experienced trainer at SeaWorld.
And for those who think that it is Tilikums fault i would like to mention that no one has even been harmed by a Killer whale in the wild.
SeaWorld lies
But SeaWorld lied. SeaWorld made a statement placing the blame on Dawn. They said that it was her fault because her hair was down in a ponytail and that’s how he dragged her into the pool. But witnesses confirm he dragged her into the pool by her arm. SeaWorld lied and falsely blamed Dawn who now couldnt even defend herself. They blamed her because they know its their fault. This is because they make him perform everyday!, he has to do tricks for food! Treating him like this gave him anxiety, and depression for making him live like this!
