Demand to allow birds to be support animals

My son is autistic and has a very strong bond with he’s blue fronted Amazon called Rio. We have met prejudice against Rio in shops not allowing him to come in and resulting in my son being told to leave the store. My son is very nervous around people and having Rio with him helps him greatly and gives my son the confidence to go out. Rio is always harnessed when out so he can’t fly off and scare anyone. We have since met other people that have birds as emotional support and I think it needs to be as recognised as dogs.
