Honorary doctorate for David Duchovny

Best known for his acting on television shows like The X-Files & Californication, David Duchovny is also a talented writer. That's no surprise since he was only a dissertation away from receiving a doctorate of English Literature from Yale University when he decided to pursue acting. He's written numerous television screenplays & the film House of D. He's penned multiple songs, which appear on his 2 albums (Hell or Highwater & Every Third Thought). A third album, Gestureland, is due in 2021.
David's biggest writing accomplishments, in my opinion, are his three bestselling novels: Holy Cow, Bucky F*cking Dent and Miss Subways. A fourth novel, Truly Like Lightning, will be published in February 2021.
If all this work doesn't equal a dissertation, what does?

David Duchovny left the doctoral program at Yale University to pursue a career in acting. Throughout his career as an actor, he’s gained legions of fans from his work on The X-Files, Californication and currently stars in the NBC show Aquarius. He’s more than an actor though! These past few years have seen him publish 2 well received books (Holy Cow & Bucky F*cking Dent) and an album of music (Hell or Highwater, for which he wrote the lyrics). On top of multiple screenplays, I think his recent body of literary work qualifies him for an honorary doctorate from Yale University.

They give out honorary doctorates to accomplished celebrities all the time, why not David?  @Yale #Dr.Duchovny
