Release the political prisoners of The Hirak Rif

Morocco has long been admired for its vibrant culture and stunning landscapes. Yet, it is imperative that the world recognizes and acts against human rights abuses happening within its borders, particularly in the Rif region. In the fight for improved social and economic conditions, the Hirak Rif movement emerged, representing countless individuals demanding justice and equality. However, as part of a crackdown on peaceful protests, numerous activists involved in this movement, commonly referred to as The Hirak Rif, have been arrested and imprisoned. These prisoners are not criminals; they are individuals who dared to raise their voices for fair treatment and a just society.

The time is now to urge the Moroccan government to release these unjustly detained activists. International human rights organizations, including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, have documented severe violations against these prisoners, often reporting inhumane treatment and unfair trials. These violations contravene the international covenants on civil and political rights, to which Morocco is a signatory.

By releasing the political prisoners of the Hirak Rif, Morocco would not only honor its commitment to uphold democratic principles but would also send a message of unity and reconciliation to its citizens and the international community. The people of the Rif, like all Moroccans, deserve a voice in their own future without the fear of persecution.

We call on governments around the world, human rights activists, and concerned citizens to stand in solidarity with the Hirak Rif movement and press for the immediate and unconditional release of all political prisoners detained due to their activism. Join us in making a powerful statement against the suppression of freedom and for the dignity of all individuals.

Please sign this petition to support justice, human rights, and the freedom of those who have been wrongfully imprisoned simply for advocating for their community. Your voice can make a difference and bring us one step closer to justice in Morocco
